§ 46.2-1132. Service of process in weight violation cases.

Any person, whether resident or nonresident, who permits the operation of amotor vehicle in the Commonwealth by his agent or employee shall be deemed tohave appointed the operator of such motor vehicle his statutory agent for thepurpose of service of process in any proceeding against such person growingout of any weight violation involving such motor vehicle. Acceptance by anonresident of the rights and privileges conferred by §§ 46.2-655 through46.2-661 shall have the same effect under this section as operation of suchmotor vehicle by such nonresident, his agent, or his employee.
