§ 46.2-633.1. Sale in Virginia of vehicle repossessed in another state.

Any motor vehicle dealer who purchases a vehicle titled in another state andthat was repossessed may sell that vehicle in Virginia without obtaining aVirginia title for the vehicle from Virginia or the state in which thevehicle is titled, provided the motor vehicle dealer has an affidavit ofrepossession or similar document showing the lawful repossession, whichaffidavit or document would be sufficient to allow the sale of therepossessed vehicle in the state where it is titled without titling thevehicle in the name of the seller.
