§ 46.2-749.2:13. (Effective until January 1, 2013) Special license platescommemorating the 400th anniversary of the establishment of the Jamestownsettlement; fees.

A. On receipt of an application therefor on or after November 1, 1997, andpayment of the fee prescribed by this section, the Commissioner shall issuespecial license plates commemorating the 400th anniversary of theestablishment of the Jamestown settlement.

B. For each set of license plates issued under this section, the Commissionershall charge, in addition to the prescribed cost of state license plates, aone-time fee of fifteen dollars at the time the plates are issued. For eachsuch fifteen-dollar fee collected, five dollars shall be paid into the statetreasury and credited to a special nonreverting fund known as theJamestown-Yorktown Foundation Fund, established within the Department ofAccounts, to be paid annually to the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation.

C. On receipt of an application therefor from a member of the Senate or Houseof Delegates, the Commissioner shall issue to the applicant special licenseplates combining the designs of special license plates issued undersubsection A of this section and special license plates issued to members ofthe Senate or House of Delegates, as the case may be, under § 46.2-736.1. Thefee for issuance of special license plates under this subsection shall be thesame as provided in subsection B of this section.

D. The provisions of subdivisions 1 and 2 of subsection B of § 46.2-725 shallnot apply to license plates issued under this section.

E. The provisions of this section shall expire on January 1, 2013.
