§ 52-4.4. Duties relating to criminal history record information checksrequired by licensed firearms dealers.

The Superintendent of the Department of State Police shall establish atoll-free telephone number which shall be operational seven days a weekbetween the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., except December 25, forpurposes of responding to inquiries from licensed firearms dealers, as suchterm is defined in 18 U.S.C. § 921 et seq., pursuant to the provisions of §18.2-308.2:2. The Department shall hire and train such personnel as arenecessary to administer the provisions of this section.
