§ 53.1-230. Commutation of capital punishment.

In any case in which the Governor shall exercise the power conferred on himto commute capital punishment, he may issue his order to the Director, whoshall receive and confine the person whose punishment is commuted accordingto such order. To carry into effect any commutation of punishment, theGovernor may issue his warrant directed to any proper officer, and the sameshall be obeyed and executed.
