Each sheriff and jail superintendent shall keep a daily record showing thetotal number of prisoners confined in the jail of his county or city, thenumber of prisoners admitted, the number released and the time of each suchadmittance and release. Such records shall show such information separatelyas to the prisoners of the Commonwealth, of each county, city or town, of theUnited States, and of any other state or country.
