§ 53.1-90. Pay for United States prisoners.

Each sheriff or jail superintendent shall collect from the United States, forprisoners of the United States confined in the jail of his county, city orregion, such amounts as shall be agreed upon by the governing body of thecounty or city or, in the case of a regional jail, the regional jailauthority or, if none, the body responsible for the fiscal management of theregional jails and the appropriate authorities of the Government of theUnited States, which amounts shall not be less than the actual cost offeeding, clothing, caring for and furnishing medicine and medical attentionfor such prisoners.
