§ 54.1-3476. Exemptions.

This chapter shall not apply to the performance of the duties of anycommissioned or contract physical therapist or physical therapist assistantwhile practicing in the United States Armed Services, United States PublicHealth Service or United States Veterans Administration as based onrequirements under federal regulations for state licensure of health careproviders, or to a physical therapist or a physical therapist assistantlicensed or certified and in good standing with the applicable regulatoryagency in the state, District of Columbia, or Canada where the practitionerresides when the practitioner is in Virginia temporarily to practice for nolonger than sixty days (i) in a summer camp or in conjunction with patientswho are participating in recreational activities, (ii) in continuingeducation programs, or (iii) by rendering at any site any health careservices within the limits of his license or certificate, voluntarily andwithout compensation, to any patient of any clinic which is organized inwhole or in part for the delivery of health care services without charge asprovided in § 54.1-106.
