§ 54.1-4423. Use of consultants in investigations.

A. The Board may develop a roster of consultants and may contract withconsultants to assist the Board in investigating and evaluating violations ofthe provisions of this chapter and regulations promulgated by the Board andto provide expert testimony as necessary in any subsequent administrativehearing or court proceeding. The consultants' compensation shall bedetermined and paid by the Board.

B. Any consultant under contract with the Board shall have immunity fromcivil liability resulting from any communication, finding, opinion, orconclusion made in the course of his duties unless the person acted in badfaith or with malicious intent.
