§ 56-1.1. Designation as public service corporation.

The State Corporation Commission may designate a business enterpriseoperating as a telephone or telecommunications company to be a public servicecorporation when, upon appropriate inquiry and public hearing, the Commissiondetermines that the enterprise is engaged in any of the public utilityservices described in § 56-1. However, this section shall not apply to anymutual telephone association existing prior to January 1, 1984.
