§ 58.1-3144. Penalties.

Any treasurer who knowingly violates any provision of this article relatingto the county or city levy, for which a specific penalty is not otherwiseprovided, shall be deemed guilty of a Class 2 misdemeanor and, uponconviction thereof, shall be removed from office. In addition, he and thesureties on his official bond shall be liable to the party aggrieved therebyfor double damages for the injury sustained.
