§ 6.1-237.9. (Repealed effective October 1, 2010) Cease and desist orders.

If the Commissioner determines that any association has violated anyprovision of this chapter or any regulation adopted pursuant thereto, he may,upon twenty-one days' notice in writing, order the association to cease anddesist from such practices and to comply with the provisions of this chapter.The notice shall be sent by certified mail to the principal place of businessof the association and shall state the grounds for the contemplated action.Within fourteen days of mailing the notice, the association may file with theClerk of the Commission a written request for a hearing. If a hearing is sorequested, the Commissioner shall not issue a cease and desist order, but theCommission may do so after such hearing. The Commission may enforcecompliance with any such order by imposition and collection of such fines andpenalties as may be prescribed by Commission regulations, or by revocation ofthe association's authority to do business in accordance with §§ 6.1-237.8and 6.1-237.10.
