§ 6.1-342. (Repealed effective October 1, 2010) Rental for storage unpaid forthree years.

In any case where such company, bank, trust company, or other corporation,shall have received for safekeeping from any person, partnership, orcorporation, any package or box to be stored in its general vault, and therental for such storage shall have remained unpaid for a period of threeyears, such company, bank, trust company, or other corporation, shall havethe right to open such package or box and to have the contents thereofinventoried, upon compliance substantially with the procedure as towitnesses, notices, and certificates hereinbefore provided with reference tothe opening of any safe-deposit vault or box. Should the rental or othercharges for the safekeeping of such package or box and the charges incidentto the opening of the same remain unpaid for a period of two years from thedate of such opening, the contents thereof may be sold upon compliancesubstantially with the procedure hereinbefore provided for the sale of thecontents of any safe-deposit vault or box, and the proceeds of such saleshall be treated in the same manner hereinbefore provided for the treatmentof the proceeds of sale of the contents of any safe-deposit vault or box.
