§ 62.1-200. Creation of Authority.
The Virginia Resources Authority is created, with the duties and powers setforth in this chapter, as a public body corporate and as a politicalsubdivision of the Commonwealth. The exercise by the Authority of the dutiesand powers conferred by this chapter shall be deemed to be the performance ofan essential governmental function of the Commonwealth.
