§ 64.1-128. Transfer of evidences of indebtedness, securities and corporatestock held in decedents' estates.

When any executors or administrators appointed under this title shall havequalified thereunder and given bond as required in § 64.1-120, shall havecompleted the distribution of the estate with the exception of transferringany evidences of indebtedness, securities or stock in any corporationconstituting a portion of such estate, such executors or administrators orthe survivors thereof may file with the clerk of the court, in which suchexecutors or administrators qualified, a petition under oath, describing anysuch evidences of indebtedness, securities and stock, reciting that all debtsof the decedent have been paid and that a final accounting has been filed andapproved, and, upon receipt of such petition, the clerk of the said courtshall issue a certificate certifying that the powers of such executors oradministrators continue in full force and effect.
