§ 64.1-196.14. Recording of disclaimer.

If an instrument transferring title to real property is disclaimed, a copy ofthe disclaimer shall be recorded in the office of the clerk of the circuitcourt for the jurisdiction where the real property is located. If any otherinterest in or power over property subject to a disclaimer is required orpermitted by law to be filed, recorded, or registered, the disclaimer may beso filed, recorded, or registered. Failure to file, record, or register thedisclaimer does not affect its validity as between the disclaimant andpersons to whom the property interest or power passes by reason of thedisclaimer.
