§ 67-602. Control and supervision.

The Consortium shall be governed by a board of directors, which shall consistof 16 voting members as follows: (i) the Director of the Department of Mines,Minerals and Energy or his designee; (ii) the Commissioner of the VirginiaMarine Resources Commission or his designee; (iii) the President of theVirginia Manufacturers Association or his appointed member of the maritimemanufacturing industry; (iv) the President of the Virginia MaritimeAssociation or his appointed member of the maritime industry; (v) theDirector of the Advanced Research Institute of Virginia Polytechnic Instituteand State University or his designee; (vi) the President of Old DominionUniversity or his designee; (vii) the Director of the Virginia Institute ofMarine Science of The College of William and Mary or his designee; (viii) thePresident of Norfolk State University or his designee; (ix) the President ofJames Madison University or his designee; (x) the President of VirginiaCommonwealth University or his designee; (xi) the President of the Universityof Virginia or his designee; (xii) the President of Hampton University or hisdesignee; (xiii) the President of George Mason University or his designee;(xiv) the chairman of the Hampton Roads Technology Council or his appointedmember of the technology community; (xv) the Director of the Hampton RoadsClean Cities Coalition or his appointed member of the renewable energyindustry; and (xvi) the Director of the Department of Environmental Qualityor his designee as the lead agency for the Virginia Coastal Zone ManagementProgram.

In addition, a representative of the National Aeronautics and SpaceAdministration's Langley Research Center, to be selected by the director ofthe Research Center, shall serve as a nonvoting ex officio member of theConsortium's board of directors.
