(a) The department may negotiate with an appropriate state or municipal agency in an effort to designate and acquire land for the temporary storage of vehicles before sale under AS 28.11.070
, or for the final disposal of unsold abandoned vehicles.


(b) A municipality that adopts an ordinance under AS 28.11.100
shall designate appropriate areas within its jurisdiction for the disposal of abandoned vehicles.
