        43.49  CANVASS BY COUNTY BOARD.
         1.  On the Monday or Tuesday following the primary election, the
      board of supervisors shall meet, open and canvass the returns from
      each voting precinct in the county, and make abstracts thereof,
      stating in words written at length:
         a.  The number of ballots cast in the county in each precinct
      by each political party, separately, for each office.
         b.  The name of each person voted for and the number of votes
      given to each person for each different office.
         c.  The votes of all write-in candidates who each received
      less than two percent of the votes cast for an office reported
      collectively under the heading "scattering".
         2.  If the day designated by this section for the canvass is a
      public holiday, the provisions of section 4.1, subsection 34, shall
      apply.
