100C.8  PENALTIES.
 1.  A person who violates any provision of this chapter is guilty
 of a simple misdemeanor.
 2.  The state fire marshal may impose a civil penalty of up to
 five hundred dollars on any person who violates any provision of this
 chapter for each day a violation continues.  The state fire marshal
 may adopt rules necessary to enforce and collect any penalties
 imposed pursuant to this chapter.
