        229.32  DUTY OF COMMISSION.
         Said commission shall at once proceed to the place where said
      person is confined and make a thorough and discreet examination for
      the purpose of determining the truth of said allegations and shall
      promptly report its findings to said judge in writing.  Said report
      shall be accompanied by a written statement of the case signed by the
      chief medical officer of the hospital in which the person is
      confined.
