        229.35  COMPENSATION -- PAYMENT.
         Said commissioners shall be entitled to their necessary expenses
      and a reasonable compensation, to be allowed by the judge, who shall
      certify the same to the director of the department of administrative
      services who shall thereupon draw the proper warrants on any funds in
      the state treasury not otherwise appropriated.  The applicant shall
      pay said costs and expenses if the judge shall so order on a finding
      that the complaint was filed without probable cause.
