252A.1  TITLE AND PURPOSE.
 This chapter may be cited and referred to as the "Support of
 Dependents Law".
 The purpose of this chapter is to secure support in civil
 proceedings for dependent spouses, children and poor relatives from
 persons legally responsible for their support.
