354.17 COSTS AND COLLECTION OF COSTS. The surveyor shall present to the auditor a statement of the total cost of the surveying, platting, and recording of a plat prepared pursuant to section 354.13. The surveyor shall also present a statement of the part of the total cost to be assessed to each parcel included in the plat based on the time involved in establishing the boundaries of each parcel. The auditor shall certify to the treasurer an assessment for the platting costs against the lots within the plat which shall be collected in the same manner as general taxes, except that the board of supervisors, by resolution, may establish not more than ten equal annual installments and provide for interest on unpaid installments at a rate not to exceed that permitted by chapter 74A.
