16:10A-5.Ā  Alteration or amendment of certificate of incorporation
Any local church of, or any other organization connected with, The United Methodist Church now or hereafter incorporated may alter or amend its certificate of incorporation in the same manner as provided by this act for theĀ  incorporation of a local church or of such other organization; provided, however, that the notice of meeting shall state the alterations or amendments to be considered;Ā  and provided further, that no alteration or amendment shall be inconsistent with the provisions of this act or the discipline of The UnitedĀ  Methodist Church.Ā  Any such alteration or amendment shall become operative whenĀ  an amended certificate of incorporation has been signed by the president orĀ  vice-president and secretary and acknowledged as in the case of deeds to realĀ  estate, and filed as provided by this act for an original certificate of incorporation.
