16:2-1.Ā Incorporation
The members of any Baptist church in this state, organized according to theĀ usages and customs of Baptist churches, may incorporate in the following manner:
Notice of a meeting of such members to incorporate, with the day, hour and place thereof, shall be given by advertisement, signed by the clerk, or clerk pro tempore of such church, and set up in open view, at least ten days previousĀ to the day named therein, at or near the place where the members usuallyĀ assemble for public worship.Ā The number of members necessary to constitute aĀ quorum shall be determined by regulation previously adopted by such church.Ā InĀ the absence of any such regulation five members shall constitute a quorum, butĀ a smaller number may adjourn the meeting from time to time.Ā At such meetingĀ the pastor or any member of such church called to the chair shall preside, andĀ the clerk of the church shall be the secretary of the meeting and shall recordĀ the proceedings.Ā A corporate name shall be adopted by a majority vote of theĀ members present at such meeting, and any number of persons, not less thanĀ three, who are members of such church or congregation meeting therewith forĀ public worship, shall be elected to be trustees by a similar vote.
