17:14A-23.Ā Powers
In addition to the powers conferred by Title 14A of the New Jersey Statutes,Ā Corporations, General, so far as they are not inconsistent with the provisionsĀ of this chapter, a safe deposit company may, as lessor, lease vaults, safeĀ deposit boxes and other receptacles for the storage and safe keeping ofĀ personal property upon terms and conditions as may be prescribed by the safeĀ deposit company with the lessees of the vaults, safe deposit boxes and otherĀ receptacles, but a safe deposit company shall not make any loans or advancesĀ upon any property left with it for storage nor have the power to transact theĀ business of a bank, savings bank or savings and loan association or any otherĀ business except that of a safe deposit company.
