2A:24-4.Ā Stay of action or proceeding subject to arbitration
In an action brought in any court upon an issue arising out of an agreementĀ providing for the arbitration thereof, the court, upon being satisfied that theĀ issue involved is referable to arbitration, shall stay the action, if theĀ applicant for the stay is not in default in proceeding with the arbitration,Ā until an arbitration has been had in accordance with the terms of theĀ agreement.
