23:4-15.Ā Baiting wild fowl prohibited;Ā penalty
No person shall sow, deposit or place any rye, wheat, oats, corn or other cereal, except wild celery and wild rice, within four hundred feet of a gunningĀ point in any of the salt or fresh waters of this state, or cause the same to beĀ done, for the purpose of luring, decoying or baiting any goose, duck, swan,Ā brant or other kind of waterfowl, so that the same may be shot at, killed orĀ captured while feeding or attempting to feed thereon; or shoot at, kill orĀ capture any goose, duck, swan, brant or other waterfowl while feeding orĀ attempting to feed where any rye, wheat, oats, corn or other cereal, exceptĀ wild celery and wild rice, is known to have been sown, deposited or placed inĀ violation of this section, under a penalty of fifty dollars for each offense.
