26:2-91.Ā Establishment;Ā purpose
The State Department of Health hereafter referred to as the department shallĀ establish a program for the care and treatment of persons suffering fromĀ hemophilia.Ā This program shall assist persons who require continuing treatmentĀ with blood and blood derivatives to avoid crippling, extensive hospitalizationĀ and other effects associated with this critical chronic bleeding condition, butĀ who are unable to pay for the entire cost of such services on a continuingĀ basis despite the existence of various types of hospital and medical insuranceĀ coverages, medicare, medicaid, and other government assistance programs, andĀ private charitable assistance programs.
