30:8-54.Ā Annual appropriation of funds by counties
The board of chosen freeholders of any county may appropriate annually fundsĀ to provide for the rehabilitation and re-establishment as law-abiding citizens,Ā of indigent persons discharged from the county jail, county penitentiary orĀ other county institution for the confinement of persons charged with, orĀ convicted of, crime, in order to better control the menace of the repeatedĀ commission of crime by such persons and for the protection of the public fromĀ recidivism.
