32:1-35.59.Ā Effectuation of purposes of act as constituting essential governmental function
The effectuation of the world trade center, the Hudson tubes and the HudsonĀ tubes extensions, or of any of such facilities constituting a portion of theĀ port development project, are and will be in all respects for the benefit ofĀ the people of the States of New York and New Jersey, for the increase of theirĀ commerce and prosperity and for the improvement of their health and livingĀ conditions;Ā and the port authority and any subsidiary corporation incorporatedĀ for any of the purposes of this act shall be regarded as performing anĀ essential governmental function in undertaking the effectuation thereof, and inĀ carrying out the provisions of law relating thereto.
