32:5A-1.Ā  Commission directed to promote increased commerce on Delaware river
The Delaware River Joint Commission created under the authority of the act,Ā  approved the thirtieth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-oneĀ  (chapter No. 391, laws of New Jersey 1931), entitledĀ  "An act providing forĀ  joint action by Pennsylvania and New Jersey in the development of the ports onĀ  the lower Delaware river, and the improvement of the facilities forĀ  transportation across the said river;Ā  authorizing the New Jersey InterstateĀ  Bridge Commission on behalf of the State of New Jersey, for these purposes, toĀ  enter into an agreement with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania creating theĀ  Delaware River Joint Commission and specifying the powers and duties thereof,Ā  including the power to finance projects by the issuance of revenue bonds; transferring to the new commission all the powers of the Delaware River BridgeĀ  Joint Commission; and making an appropriation," and a similar act of theĀ  Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is hereby directed to exercise its function inĀ  effectuating the purpose of article one, paragraph (g) of the compactĀ  authorized by the aforesaid act, which reads as follows:

"(g) The promotion of increased commerce on the Delaware river, both freight and passenger, and for this purpose the publication of such literature and adoption of such means as may be deemed appropriate."
