33:1-61.Ā Receipt for and inventory of property seized
Any officer who shall seize any property under a search warrant shall give aĀ copy of the warrant, together with an itemized receipt for the property, to theĀ person from whom it was taken or in whose possession it was found or, in theĀ absence of any person, such officer shall leave said copy and receipt in theĀ place where he found the property.Ā The officer who executes a search warrantĀ shall return the same to the issuing magistrate, together with a writtenĀ inventory of the property taken, made in the presence of at least one credibleĀ person other than the officer.Ā The magistrate shall, upon request, exhibit theĀ inventory to any person claiming the property and to the applicant for theĀ warrant and allow copies to be made thereof.
