40A:14-122.7.Ā  Continuance in service;Ā  persons appointed under repealed acts;Ā  non-observance of residency requirements Any person serving as a member of a police department and force pursuant toĀ  the provisions of any act repealed by this act shall continue to serve in suchĀ  position and need not comply with any residency requirement which may have beenĀ  a condition of his continued employment thereunder.
