40A:14-30.Ā Removal from fire hazards of tangible personal property; custody;Ā arrest of offenders
Any member or officer of a municipal fire department or force subject to theĀ rules and regulations thereof in connection with a fire may remove any tangibleĀ personal property involved therein and hold such property for the owner.Ā TheĀ members and officers of the fire department or force, during the continuance ofĀ the fire, shall have the powers of a peace officer and may apprehend or arrestĀ without warrant any person interfering with the removal or custody of suchĀ property.Ā Any such person so apprehended or arrested shall be brought beforeĀ the local municipal court or any other court of competent jurisdiction, to beĀ dealt with according to law.
