40A:9-143.Ā  Collector of arrears of taxes The governing body of every municipality, by ordinance, may provide for theĀ  appointment of an officer to be designated as theĀ  "municipal collector ofĀ  arrears of taxes" , fix his term of office and compensation, and prescribe hisĀ  powers and duties.
