The inhabitants of every municipality shall be a body corporate in fact andĀ in law, and by its corporate name it shall have perpetual succession, may sueĀ and be sued, have a common seal, and purchase, acquire, lease, hold, let andĀ convey real and personal property for the use and benefit of the municipality.
