40:67-16.Ā Safety zones and other structures for traffic regulations; exceptions
The governing body may establish safety zones, erect, construct and maintainĀ platforms, commonly calledĀ "safety aisles" ;Ā standards commonly called "silent policemen" , beacon lights, guide posts and other structures which itĀ may deem necessary for the safety and convenience of persons and vehicles usingĀ the streets of such municipality, but no such erections or constructions shallĀ be made, operated or maintained on any state highway without permission of theĀ state highway commission;Ā nor shall any such erections or constructions beĀ made, operated or maintained on any county road or county boulevard withoutĀ permission of the board or body having control of or jurisdiction over suchĀ county road or boulevard.
