40:67-22.1.Ā  Payment for vacating street
When any county acquires real property for use as a public park or other recreational facility in excess of 500 acres and a portion of such property hasĀ  been (a) designated as a municipal public street, whether or not actually opened or improved, and (b) the municipality agrees to vacate the said public street or portion thereof, by ordinance adopted pursuant to chapter 67 of TitleĀ  40 of the Revised Statutes, such county may, by resolution of the governingĀ  body, or in the case of counties organized pursuant to the "Optional CountyĀ  Charter Law,"Ā  P.L.1972, c. 154 (C. 40:41A-1 et seq.) by ordinance of theĀ  governing body, make payment to such municipality in return for vacating saidĀ  street upon such terms as shall be agreed upon by the governing bodies of theĀ  county and municipality.
