40:68A-36.Ā  Interest of members, officers or employees in property or contracts No member, officer or employee of a municipal port authority shall have or acquire any interest, direct or indirect, in the port system or in any propertyĀ  included or planned to be included in the port system or in any contract orĀ  proposed contract for materials or services to be furnished to or used by theĀ  municipal port authority.Ā  Neither the holding of any office or employment inĀ  the government of any county or municipality or of the State nor the owning ofĀ  any other property within the State shall be deemed a disqualification forĀ  membership in or employment by a municipal port authority, and members of theĀ  governing body of the municipality may be appointed by such governing body andĀ  may serve as members of a municipal port authority.
