40:71-5.Ā Clerk to certify results;Ā contents of certificate
The municipal clerk shall certify the results of the election to the legislative body of the municipality at its first meeting thereafter, enter theĀ same at large in its minutes and certify the same to the secretary of state. In such certificates he shall specify whether or not a majority of the votesĀ cast are for the adoption of chapters 70 to 76 of this title (s. 40:70-1 etĀ seq.), and if they are, he shall further specify whether or not the number ofĀ votes cast in favor of such adoption is equal in number to at least thirty perĀ cent of the total number of legal ballots cast in such municipality at theĀ general election next preceding the submission of question of the adoption ofĀ said chapters 70 to 76 of this title.
