43:15A-13.Ā  Special benefits continued The special benefits payable under the formerĀ  "State Employees' RetirementĀ  System"Ā  under acts repealed by this act as they were in effect on June 30,Ā  1953, which acts granted special privileges to certain employees, shall beĀ  continued for members or beneficiaries of the retirement system as of theĀ  effective date of this section as if such acts had not been repealed.
