43:6A-9.Ā Eligibility for retirement;Ā 5 years or more of service with additional public service;Ā amount of pension
a.Ā Any judge of the several courts, who shall have served at least 5 yearsĀ successively as such judge and shall have attained the age of 65 years or moreĀ while serving in such office and shall have served at least 15 years in theĀ aggregate, including such service as a judge, or in office, position, orĀ employment of this State or of a county, municipality, board of education orĀ public agency of this State, may retire.
b.Ā Any judge of the several courts, who shall have served at least 5 yearsĀ successively as such judge and shall have attained the age of 60 years or moreĀ while serving in such office and shall have served at least 20 years in theĀ aggregate, including such service as a judge, or in office, position, orĀ employment of this State or of a county, municipality, board of education orĀ public agency of this State, may retire.
c.Ā Any member of the retirement system, eligible to retire under the provisions of this section, shall receive a retirement allowance consisting of an annuity which shall be the actuarial equivalent of his accumulated deductions together with regular interest, and a pension which, when added to the member's annuity, will provide a retirement allowance during the remainder of his life in an amount equal to one-half of his final salary.
