44:1-157.1.  Rate of payment     Whenever the Division of Public Welfare in the Department of Human Services provides payment for the funeral and burial or cremation of a recipient of aid to families with dependent children pursuant to P.L. 1959, c. 86 (C. 44:10-1 et seq.), general public assistance pursuant to P.L. 1947, c. 156 (C. 44:8-107 et seq.) or supplemental security income pursuant to P.L. 1973, c. 256 (C. 44:7-85 et seq.), the total allowable payment for funeral and burial or cremation including contributions by others, shall be at least 75% of the average cost for a proper funeral and burial charged by funeral directors in the locality in which the public assistance recipient is buried or cremated.
