44:4-119.Ā Acquisition of cemetery by county;Ā issuance of bonds A county may acquire by devise, gift, purchase, condemnation or in any otherĀ manner, such land as in the judgment of the governing body may be necessary andĀ proper for a burial ground for those who may die therein without leaving meansĀ necessary to defray their funeral expenses.Ā Such lands may be within theĀ boundaries of an existing cemetery.
If in the opinion of the governing body the amount of such cost will be tooĀ burdensome to be borne by the taxpayers in any one year, they may issue bondsĀ therefor, in the manner in which other county bonds are issued pursuant toĀ law.
