45:9-27.19a. Countersignature required for order for medications by temporary licenseeĀ
3. A temporary licensed physician assistant may write an order for medications; however, the order may not be executed without the immediate countersignature of a physician or licensed physician assistant.Ā When the countersignature is provided by a licensed physician assistant, the order must also be countersigned by a physician within 24 hours of its entry by the temporary licensed physician assistant.Ā Any limitation on the authority of a temporary licensed physician assistant to order medications as provided in this section shall be in addition to any such limitation on a licensed physician assistant pursuant to the "Physician Assistant Licensing Act," P.L.1991, c.378 (C.45:9-27.10 et al.).Ā
