45:9-54.Ā Receipt of bodies from other counties
Any association organized under this article may apply for and receive fromĀ any county in this state dead human bodies which may be required to be buriedĀ at the public expense and are not claimed by any kindred or relation, asĀ provided in section 45:9-49 of this title, and any public officer or agent, orĀ any person in charge of a public institution as enumerated and set forth inĀ said section 45:9-49 may deliver such body under the restriction of suchĀ section to any association organized under this article in any county in thisĀ state.Ā When any such association shall have been organized in any county, noĀ body shall be removed to another county until the association or associationsĀ within said county has an opportunity to receive it.
