48:15-1. "Street railway or traction company" ; "street"
The termĀ "street railway or traction company"Ā when used in this chapter means and includes, unless the contrary appears from the context, a company organized under this Title, or any company heretofore organized, reorganized orĀ consolidated under the provisions of any act of this State general, special orĀ private, for the purpose of owning, leasing or operating a street railway or aĀ railroad operated as a street railway and extensions thereof, or any company,Ā which, by virtue of any act of this State, has become subject to the provisionsĀ of any law of this State authorizing the incorporation of street railway orĀ traction companies.
The wordĀ "street"Ā when used in this chapter means and includes a public street, avenue, highway, road, alley, lane, plaza, square or other public place.
