52:14A-7.Ā Period in which authority may be exercised
Officials and other persons authorized to act as Governor pursuant to this act and emergency interim successors are empowered to exercise the powers and discharge the duties of an office as herein authorized only after an attack hasĀ occurred and until a successor is appointed or elected and qualified accordingĀ to law, or until the lawful incumbent is able to resume the exercise of theĀ powers and discharge the duties of the office. The Legislature, by concurrentĀ resolution, may at any time terminate the authority of any emergency interimĀ successors to exercise the powers and discharge the duties of any office.
